Lace Embrace Knit Cotton Corset Cover
Made with love in our Vancouver studio!
Inspired by corset covers from the Victorian era, we made our own reproduction in a stretch knit cotton. Constructed from a different pattern from our woven cotton corset covers, this style features a slightly flared hip and does not have an adjustable waist. However, the ribbon insertions in both the neckline and the sleeves help loosen or tighten the garment the corset cover as needed. The ribbon insertions are threaded through a fine lace trim, giving it a pretty finish.A row of buttons down the front give it more practicality when dressing and undressing.
Reminiscent in purpose to a modern camisole, the corset cover was traditionally used to cover the seam lines of the bones and busk of the corset. Additionally, the corset cover was worn for modesty under a gown or under sheer garments, much like a slip is worn today.
Wearing the corset cover over a corset is traditionally the way it should be worn. However, don’t let that stop you! A lot of our clients like to wear them simply as tops or even under their corsets! Adjusting the lace so that the top goes down your shoulders gives it a flirty look.
The shorter length of this garment allows for the bottom of your corset to be visible. Otherwise, it pairs perfectly with high waist bottoms.
Choosing your size and colour
Available in both black and creme stretch cotton, with the added bonus of an adjustable neckline, it can fit up to an XL quite easily. Because of this, we only have the corset made in one size.
Measuring up to max 48″ chest and 44″ waist when fully stretched. Length is 19.5″ from shoulder to hem.
