There is only one place I can think of where you can see more curves than the Malahat, and it’s a damn site closer. Lace Embrace Atelier, local crafters of authentic corsets, is shaping up for an evening of old school swank and swing this Saturday at Babalong. Some new corsets by Melanie Talkington, the beauty and brains behind Lace Embrace, will be delightfully displayed. Other highlights will be burlesque performances by Sweet Soul – and don’t miss this – an appearance by special guest Cathie Jung, the world record holder for the smallest waist. There is a strict dress code in effect, so embrace or create your curves, whichever may be the case, and don your fanciest boudoir finery: corsets, bustiers, merry widows, etc. Men that aren’t into sporting corsets should show a touch of class and wear a tuxedo or at least a sharp suit.
